Settings & Preferences

Customize your Second Brain Digest experience through the settings page. This guide covers all available options.

Accessing Settings

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Click Settings in the navigation menu

General Settings

Email Address

Your digest emails are sent to this address. To change it:

  1. Enter your new email address
  2. Click Save
  3. Verify the new address via the confirmation email

Timezone

Setting your timezone ensures:

  • Digests arrive at the scheduled time in your local time
  • "This Day in History" shows the correct date
  • Activity timestamps are accurate

Select your timezone from the dropdown and save.

Module Configuration

Enabling/Disabling Modules

Each digest module can be turned on or off:

  1. Find the Modules section
  2. Toggle individual modules on/off
  3. Disabled modules won't appear in your digest

Module Order

Customize the order modules appear in your digest:

  1. Drag and drop modules to reorder them
  2. The preview updates to show the new order
  3. Save your changes

AI Settings

AI Provider

Choose which AI provider generates your insights:

  • OpenAI - Uses GPT models for analysis
  • Rule-based - Uses pattern matching (no AI, faster)

If no AI provider is configured, rule-based analysis is used automatically.

AI Features

When AI is enabled, you get:

  • Summarized daily recaps
  • Intelligent connection suggestions
  • Context-aware complementary insights

Sync Settings

Exclusion Rules

Manage what gets synced from your vault:

  • Excluded Folders - Folders that won't be synced
  • Excluded Tags - Notes with these tags are skipped

Changes here sync to your Obsidian plugin automatically.

Sync Status

View your current sync status:

  • Total notes synced
  • Last sync time
  • Any sync errors

Clear Vault Data

To remove all synced data:

  1. Click Clear Vault Data
  2. Confirm the action
  3. Your notes will be removed from our servers
  4. You'll need to re-sync to generate digests

Account Settings

API Tokens

Manage tokens for the Obsidian plugin:

  • View active tokens
  • Generate new tokens
  • Revoke existing tokens

Delete Account

To permanently delete your account:

  1. Go to Account > Delete Account
  2. Confirm by typing your email
  3. All data will be permanently removed
